Connie Paré has been a member of the Basilian Lay Associates since 2010 and has served as co-coordinator with Bernardine Ketelaars and Father Norman Tanck, CSB of the Toronto Area BLAs since July 2016.
She grew up in the West Windsor area and does not remember a time when she did not know about the Congregation of St. Basil. Her professional experience is varied and includes working as a custom house broker and international trade consultant for 21 years before she went to work for the Diocese of London as a facilitator of adult faith formation and then as director of pastoral planning. In the early 1990s, she had the privilege of participating in the development of the Institute of Pastoral and Educational Ministry at Assumption University and served on its first board. She retired from diocesan ministry in 2016.
“Being a Basilian Lay Associate has enabled me to connect with and share my faith journey with a group committed to spiritual development and service. I am grateful to the connection with the Basilian community. It provides me an opportunity to deepen my relationship with God and BLAs in Toronto and other areas and to get to know and learn from faith filled Basilian priests who have been and continue to be great examples of living the faith in service to others,” she said.
